Between Leidsestraat and Raadhuisstraat there is an area known as De 9 Straatjes (The 9 Streets), which is named after the nine side streets connecting the main canals. They bring together an appealing neighbourhood full of unique shops, wonderful places to have lunch and a great atmosphere. These small streets and canals in Amsterdam are well equipped for pedestrians, and cyclists. If you add up all the cycling paths- with a total length of 400 kilometres- it is obvious that Amsterdam is a real cycling city!
